Vendor Introduction

09Feb09

Today I received a lovely comment from a Baltimore bride who found my day of coordinator, Heidi of Entertain Me Events through my blog. She thanked me for posting about her as she had not had luck finding a reasonably priced day of coordinator before reading my blog. That makes me feel all fuzzy inside! I know how difficult it can be to find quality vendors who are not looking to do nasty things to your pocketbook, so I figured I’d introduce two more of my vendors.

Our officiant is Rev. Steven Weeks of Weddings Anywhere, Anytime. I fully admit that I didn’t have many requirements for this vendor. I toold my fiancé as long as they showed up and spoke clearly, we’re good. That said, Rev. Weeks has been very prompt in our communication, and is going to work with us on creating a ceremony that reflects the both of us. He offers options for all kinds of ceremonies-including how you want him to dress! His pricing is listed on his website, and if you compare him to other area officiants, he is very reasonable.

Today I mailed off the contract and deposit for our photographer. Our photographer search has been dramatic. The photographer we originally chose is pregnant, so she can’t shoot our big day. I had another photographer in mind and she booked up. One more made me and the boy feel like crap because we weren’t willing to spend $2,500+ for the big day. All this drama has paid off, because we have booked with the wonderful Jenni Combs of Forever-Yesterday Fine Art Photography.

Jenni has been a gem to work with so far. She is the most responsive of any vendors I have, and she’s very personable. Her pricing is also listed on her website, and it’s very reasonable for the Baltimore/DC area. Several Baltimore knotties have used Jenni for their boudoir photo shoots, and none have ever had a bad thing to say about her, which is what prompted me to contact her in the first place. I’m very excited to have her capture our day!

It feels so good to have the bulk of my vendors booked. The only thing that is mildly stressing me out now is finding the dress. If I want to order it from a bridal shop, I need to get on it so it’ll be back in time. Oh, I also need to find a cute new outfit for our engagement shoot, so I’ll be hitting H&M at lunch time this week while the weather here in DC is mild!

Have you had good luck with finding vendors who offer a quality product for a good price?

Thanks for the shout out! I found Budget Designer Florals on project wedding, we haven’t met face to face but our correspondence has been great and she will work with any budget. I’m getting my flowers delivered on the Thursday before the big day, all of my bouquets will be pre-assembled and my centerpieces will be arranged (they’re just tulips, so nothing complicated) so I just have to put them in a vase. She’s based out of VA, so it may be perfect for brides that are a little further south than b-more.

I will have to check that out! I live in VA, so we could stop on our way up to MD.
